Looking Back at 2025: A Year of Commitment, Compassion, and Shared Growth

 

As 2025 comes to a close, Volunteers For Education looks back with gratitude on a year defined by perseverance, collaboration, and a shared belief in the transformative power of education.

Working in remote mountainous areas of Dien Bien Province, where access to quality learning environments remains a daily challenge, 2025 was a year when small, consistent efforts came together to create lasting impact - for schools, for teachers, and most importantly, for children.

Strengthening Learning Spaces in Dien Bien

One of the most meaningful milestones of the year was the completion of two new classroom buildings in Điện Biên. These classrooms are more than physical structures; they represent safety, dignity, and opportunity for students who previously learned in limited or deteriorating conditions.

Built in close collaboration with local authorities and schools, these classrooms now provide children with brighter, safer spaces to learn, grow, and dream - even during harsh weather and challenging seasons.

A Long-Term Volunteer Journey in Sinh Phinh

In 2025, VFE continued to deepen its commitment to long-term, sustainable engagement by implementing a long-term volunteer program across three primary schools in Sinh Phình commune.

Rather than short-term interventions, this program focused on consistency and trust. Volunteers worked alongside local teachers to support English learning, extracurricular activities, hygiene education, and students’ emotional well-being. Over time, classrooms became spaces not only for lessons, but also for encouragement, care, and confidence-building.

Through this program, more than 1,500 students were directly reached and supported — each with their own story, background, and potential.

Caring Beyond the Classroom

Understanding that learning does not happen in isolation, VFE also provided essential support to improve students’ daily living conditions at school. Throughout the year, we supported schools with hand-washing gel, helping strengthen hygiene practices, as well as mattresses and foam mats to improve comfort and rest for boarding students.

These simple yet meaningful provisions contribute to healthier routines, better concentration, and a stronger sense of care within school communities.

Gratitude as We Step into 2026

Behind every milestone in 2025 is the dedication of many hands and hearts - volunteers who chose to stay and listen, teachers who welcomed collaboration, local partners who guided and supported the work on the ground, and donors who believed in long-term impact.
