Project: Toa Tinh nursery school site

  • Location: Tuan Giao district
  • Time: Feb - Apr 2018
  • Status (updated): completed

The Toa Tinh Nursery School / Kindergarten Site (hereafter “school site”) is an undeveloped piece of land in Toa Tinh. Toa Tinh is a commune of the Tuan Giao district, a rural district of the mountainous Dien Bien province in the northwest region of Vietnam. The area is one of the most beautiful, unaffected and untouristed areas of Vietnam, but also one of the poorest. This is why the local community could not afford so far to develop the school site in order to provide a learning facility for the 51 active preschoolers aged from 1 to 5 years living in the Toa Tinh commune. Therefore, the preschoolers are currently accommodated in the nearby primary school, sharing the building with the primary school students.

As the primary school is not even close to being big enough to provide decent learning conditions for both the primary school students and the preschoolers, VFE has decided to finance the construction of a new school, comprising:

– 3 classrooms (36 m2/room)
– 1 teacher room (18 m2)
– 1 sanitary room
– 1 kitchen.

The school will be equipped with electricity, gutters, and a playground. The 3 classrooms will provide enough space so that even 15 children aged from 1 to 2 years will find room. Nursery schools and Kindergartens are focused environments for children to flourish and grow to the best they possibly can; especially for children at their early developmental years. Thanks to your generous donations, we are able to complete the project in one go. The contract is expected to be signed early February and the starting day of the construction will be in the second half of February 2018, after Lunar New Year. The time of construction is expected to be about 2 months. Its progress will be closely monitored by us to ensure that time schedules, quality specifications and cost calculations are adhered to.
