Project: Ta Phin Primary School
- Location: Tua Chua district
- Status: FUNDRAISING
Background Information
Situated 30 kilometers from Tua Chua district, Ta Phin commune is a very poor mountainous area with 814 households and 4,178 residents. Most of the locals are Mong people, who usually grow rice, corn, and some other kinds of plants on the mountainside to earn a living. Because of severe weather and natural conditions, their living quality is below standard with low education and awareness. In recent years, local authorities have tried to improve facilities to increase people's access to education, healthcare, and commerce.
Ta Phin Primary School is in the commune center and serves 520 students (19 classes), which includes 289 boarding students. Due to its far distance from the villages, most students need to stay at school during the week and return to their houses on the weekend.
Difficulties
Currently, there are 17 classrooms and 02 functional rooms in the school. After in-depth onsite research, we have figured out many infrastructural difficulties that Ta Phin Primary School is facing:
- 05 temporary classrooms (01 room borrowed from the community house)
- 01 temporary boarding room
- 02 temporary and unsanitary restrooms used by both teachers and students
- Temporary and shabby kitchen
VFE Project at Ta Phin Primary School
After conducting thorough field assessments, VFE identified Ta Phin Primary School as a priority for improvement. This project aims to enhance the school's infrastructure and learning environment through the following facilities:
- A new building with 06-08 classrooms (to replace the current temporary classroom building)
We are planning to start the construction by March 2025, and it is expected to be completed in 04 months.
